Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

LÁ Fhéile Pádraig Sona Dhuit!

Things are a little different this year – no parade and no hanging out with friends and family but we’re making the most of it……..

This morning we made cupcakes:

And the kids did their St. Patrick’s Day decorations to hang in the front windows.

Send me pictures if your kids did some window art and I’ll post them (email to ourgirlsgang@gmail.com).

There are lots of St. Patrick’s Day kids crafts like this one on You Tube if you are looking for ideas this afternoon:

Not forgetting the history behind the day, we read the story of St. Patrick’s Day.

According to history and legend, this is not actually what happened:

Image may contain: possible text that says 'ARE WE THERE YET? HAVE To GO Το THE BATH- ROOM! How MUCH FARTHER? I'M GONNA BE SICK! St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland. ๑2০০6'

Later, we are heading to Leopardstown to the drive in movies to see “War of the Buttons” – what a great idea in these days of social distancing.

There might even be the “traditional” McDonalds Shamrock Shake from the drive thru.

And to finish off the day, I might just be treating myself to one of my favourite drinks!

Check out this video from Jameson showing us how to make the perfect Irish coffee:

So LÁ Fhéile Pádraig Sona Dhuit!

And Stay well x
